No School Friday, Feb. 1st

Dear Dew Family and Friends:
As most of you are aware, our community and county have been hit with a great deal of sickness, mostly strep throat and the flu. After much thought, I have decided that it is in the best interest of students, staff and community to cancel Dew ISD classes and all after school activities for the rest of the week. School will reopen at regular time on Monday.
The custodial staff has been doing extra cleaning, but with the staff and students out of the buildings tomorrow, they will be able to do even more. We will be doing a deep cleaning in all the classrooms, the cafeteria, and all of our buses.
Hopefully, a three-day weekend and the deep cleaning of our facility, will break the cycle of sickness for our school.
Our calendar is structured in such a way that we will not have to make up Friday at a later date.
Thank you,
Mr. Evans

Dew Bulldogs Cross Country District Champions

Dew Bulldogs Cross Country District Champions
The Dew Bulldogs traveled to Mount Calm, to compete in the District 27-A Cross Country meet. Both teams did exceptionally well. There were 2 girls that made it to the top 10. Rebecca Coker came in 7th place and Taylor Bell who came in 10th place. The girls finished 3rd place as a team. The Boys team had 3 top 10 finishers the first being Aaron Valentin who finished in 6th place Kaden Adams who came in 9th place and Joshua Owens who came in 10th place. The Boys overall finished 1st place in district capping off the 1st district title in School history. I am so extremely proud of both teams and all the hard work that they put in from day 1. I told the kids on the 1st day of practice that they are a special group of kiddos and I can’t think of a group of kiddos that deserve this success more than these kids. I want to give a special thank you to our superintendent Mr. Darrell Evans and the Faculty and staff of Dew ISD as well as Dew ISD school board. Without their commitment and support of Dew Athletics we would not be able to accomplish the goals that we have set out. Thank you to all of our parents, family and fans for the support all season long and we look forward to building on this success for years to come.
Go Bulldogs
