News from the Superintendent

Dew ISD anticipates another great year in 2016-2017. The students, faculty, staff, school board, and community of Dew are excited about the opportunities that exist for all of our students at Dew schools. Freestone County is lucky to have four great school districts within its’ borders.   We feel like we offer some things that the bigger school districts in our county are unable to.

Dew ISD is happy to announce a few additions to our faculty/staff. Kristin Staggs is coming on board as our counselor. She brings a wealth of educational experience to the district. Not only will she head up our counseling department, but she will also be in charge of 504, the district test coordinator and school registrar. David Algood will be teaching junior high math as well as providing math remediation for our students that need accelerated math instruction. Mr. Algood has been teaching in the Houston area, but he has ties to Freestone County as well. He is the pastor of Fairfield No. 1 Church of God in Christ. Also joining our team is Olivia Reid. Mrs. Reid will be teaching first grade. She is a lifelong Fairfield resident and a Fairfield High School graduate. Completing our staff is Nicole Sifford. Many of you are already acquainted with Mrs. Sifford. She has been the school secretary for several years at Teague Junior High School. Her experience, expertise and personality are all welcome additions to Dew ISD.

Superintendent/Principal Darrell Evans and his exceptional, highly qualified, and deeply caring faculty/staff provide an exceptional educational experience for all students. A rigorous curriculum, one to one technology, individual attention to all students, field trip experiences, fine arts development and competitive athletics all contribute to a positive educational experience for all students.

For the third year, Dew ISD will provide an After School program for their students. From 3:30P until 5:30P Monday through Friday for a fee of $25 per student. Dew ISD will provide a program aimed to provide students with homework support and enrichment through a variety of activities. Mrs. Sherree Wood is the coordinator of this program.
